What is the field spot and why does it matter?
The field spot is the pale patch where the watermelon sat on the ground while growing. A creamy yellow field spot indicates the melon ripened in the sun. A white or pale green spot means it was picked too early. This is the single most reliable indicator of ripeness!
Does it work on other melons?
Currently, Juicy Melons is optimized specifically for watermelons. We chose to perfect one fruit rather than be mediocre at many. Honeydew and cantaloupe support may come in future updates based on user demand.
